• Other surrounding county animal shelters (Oceana, Muskegon)

It is very important to call and visit these places every other day. You know better than anyone what your animal looks like. In the State of Michigan a animal may be euthanized after 4 days if it has no collar and after 7 days if it does have a collar.

2.  PUT UP FLYERS:       

   Detailed description, with photo if possible

•  Date lost     

•  Location or area last seen

•  Phone number for contact

•  REWARD – Very Important

•  Name the animal answers to

Put these flyers in grocery stores, Vet offices and businesses in your town and the surrounding towns. Give one of flyers to the animal control, the shelter, the post office, city police and county sheriff. 

3.     PUT ADS IN LOCAL AND AREA NEWSPAPER

(Same information as above)

• Area businesses, vet offices, animal control, shelter etc. Phone number for contact

Put a minimal amount of information to describe the dog or cat. When someone calls about the animal, ask the to describe the animal, making sure they are not just repeating your description. Ask the animals name to check for a response. If everything matches, then give a location for pickup, this does not have to be your home.
