Our state is dealing with the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our pets and our staff remain top priority. We simply must keep our staff healthy to care for over 35 animals housed in our facility. Therefore, we have made the following changes effective Tuesday, March 17th:
- The building will be closed to the public until further notice.
- All visits are suspended for now. If you are interested in one of our animals, please submit an application and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
- Public events (including dog training, volunteer training, microchip clinics, and the Perch for Pets dinner fundraiser) have been postponed.
- We are still available as a community resource to answer your questions about pet behavior, spay/neuter resources or lost and found animals. Call us at (231) 924-9230.
At this time, our largest needs are Clorox wipes, bleach and monetary donations to maintain our high level of animal care in a clean and safe environment. We are not accepting blankets or used items at this time. To contribute monetarily, follow this link: www.bellwetherharbor.org/donations/
Staff will continue to provide quality care for the dogs and cats in our shelter.
We appreciate your continued support during this extended closure. Watch for future updates on social media and our website.
