VOLUNTEER TRAINING
All volunteers must attend an orientation class regardless of volunteer interest. You will be provided some vital information for you to review and after you have reviewed this information we will schedule an appointment with our volunteer coordinator for personalized training.
Depending upon the area of the shelter you would like to volunteer for determines the type of training you will need.
Dog training will contain, but is not limited to, kennel entries, walking dogs, exercise locations, commands, handling and body language.
Cat training will contain, but is not limited to, housekeeping, where the appropriate roaming areas are located, proper handling, proper socialization and body language.
If you don’t want to interact directly with the animals we have many other opportunities to participate in.
